Committed to safety and protecting our woods, our event strictly adheres to all fire regulations, with the addition of vigilant volunteers on hand to manage the effigy and temple burn responsibly amidst regional forest fires.

Tickets

Tickets for L’OsstidBurn will be released through a random lottery. Since the event is usually sold out, a waiting list will be used to handle ticket turnover. Tickets are not transferable between participants, but can be refunded to the purchaser and then offered to those on the waitlist. After the lottery, participants can still register for tickets and will be placed at the bottom of the waitlist. No tickets will be sold on-site.

In order to purchase a ticket for L’OsstidBurn, you must sign-up for the registration platform. Each and every participant must enter a single email address and create a password. Click “Submit Registration” to be added to the lottery or the waiting list.

IMPORTANT: Make sure you use the name and date of birth from your ID while signing up on the platform.

What Not to do

PRICE

This year, there will be no fixed price for tickets. You get to choose the price based on your financial capacity and how much you think the ticket is worth.

We hope that some burners will be able to offer more to compensate for those who cannot afford the average ticket price. The price you pay for a ticket has no bearing on your chance of getting a ticket.

The average price for a ticket is $100

The mission of L’OsstidBurn is to promote art and participatory engagement. In recent years, the organization has allocated between 20% and 27% of its annual budgets in grants to participants. Most of the event’s revenue comes from ticket sales, vehicle passes and donations. Operational expenses (field, insurance, logistics, security, etc.) for 2022 are estimated at $35,000. Any surplus will be directly allocated to art grants. If the average participant contributes $100 towards the purchase of their ticket, we will be able to give 30% of the grants to the community this year. The event is 100% volunteer run, and no one is paid for their time. You can consult our financial report from last years.

Getting a refund

If you decide not to attend the event, log in to the registration platform and click on the “Refund me” button. Your ticket will be reassigned to the person at the top of the wait list. If you do not request a refund, the ticket will remain associated with your name and date of birth and will be valid only for you. There is no transfer or resale of tickets. Refunds will be possible until June 11th at 11:59 PM

Directed Group Sale (DGS)

Directed Group Sale (DGS) tickets are saved for burners who play a critical role in (i) theme camps, (ii) art projects or (iii) other projects in the festival. These projects require time, planning and a dedicated team to bring to life. DGS tickets help ensure that project leaders have enough people to make their projects happen.

How to apply for DGS Tickets

You can get access to DGS tickets by:

  • applying for DGS tickets while registrating your theme camp through the Placement form.
  • applying for DGS tickets while registrating your art project.

Specific Cases

Group Registration

It is now possible to create group applications when registering for the lottery. This option is intended for any group of 2 to 10 people who wish to participate together to avoid having one person receive a ticket offer and the others not. (e.g. family, group of friends) Being in a group connects you together within the ticketing system.

Group members must register individually on the platform. Once registered, you must form a group. click the “Manage Groups” button. One person will be the “manager” of the group and will use the Create Group option. Then, the group members must individually join using the “Join a group” button and the manager will approve them.

After we draw the lottery, the group options will be disabled. All participants who register for tickets after the lottery will automatically be placed at the bottom of the waitlist, in order of registration.

Children (18-)

All children must have a ticket and must be accompanied by an adult (parent or legal guardian) at the entrance of the event.

For children aged 12 to 17 (born between 2010/06/21 – 2004/06/22), tickets are paid (suggested price: $50.00) and will be sent to their account email address. If they have not received an offer within a week after their parent has purchased their own ticket, please contact [email protected]

For children aged 11 and under (born between 2010/06/20 – 2022/06/21), a free ticket will automatically be available on the platform. Registration is mandatory, and you will not receive a purchase offer.

An account must be created on the ticketing platform for all children and teenagers under 18, with a different email address from that of the applicant (tip: with most providers, there’s no need to create a dedicated email address! e.g., https://bgr.com/tech/gmail-tips-email-address-filter-avoid-spam/ like this: [email protected])

A waiver must be signed by a parent or legal guardian of the child upon arrival.

Children are not counted in the lottery. They will automatically have a ticket upon registration.
